SitRep Summary
SitRep Summary helps users turn a batch of source documents into one draft UNOCHA-style Situation Report. It is designed to support faster synthesis while keeping human review at the center of the workflow.
What it does
The app reads multiple uploaded files together and produces a single consolidated Situation Report summary with citations, key figures, and a simple inline graph when the source material supports it.
Expected inputs
- PDF, Word, PowerPoint, text, Markdown, JSON, CSV, TSV, or Excel files.
- Documents related to the same emergency, context, operation, or response.
- Source material with dates, locations, figures, needs, response updates, or gaps.
Expected outputs
- One synthesized draft Situation Report, not separate file summaries.
- Sections for highlights, overview, needs, response, constraints, and priorities.
- Source citations, a references list, key figures, and an inline graph where possible.
Sample user workflow
- Gather the latest relevant documents for one situation or emergency.
- Choose the output language from the language picker.
- Upload the documents and remove any files that should not be included.
- Generate the SitRep and wait for the combined draft to appear.
- Review citations, figures, assumptions, and any confidence notes.
- Download the PDF only after a human has reviewed and approved the summary.
Current limitations and future areas for expansion
- The app creates a draft summary and does not replace expert review.
- Generated content depends on the completeness and quality of the uploaded files.
- The app does not currently save upload history, user accounts, or previous reports.
- Future expansion could include richer templates, review workflows, export formats, and persistent project spaces.
- Share suggestions through the feedback form.
